We have a 85 pounds, 6 years old Shepherd / Retriever mix. We had the bases with her, but fought constantly closing its climbing ability. I thought he was too set in his ways to change anything. In desperation, we hired a family friend who has over 20 years of service dogs and training dogs for AKC and CKC obedience shows.
However, he said that was not his first choice to go to a zap collar, but with our dogs age, size, and lack of reaction to noise (say, coins in a box), it was a good starting point . It 'was amazing, and only after 3 weeks.
We bought 2 necklaces (other brands) in the past. We got a response out of it, but the video short-term training that come with the product have been unnecessary. The batteries in the collar are still dying and we would be buying new batteries every week. The characteristic of this series rechargeable is great.
